Life is a constant steam; like rocks in the riverbed, I hope each day makes me more well-rounded.

Sam Rodeghier is a multidisciplinary artist, focusing primarily in photography and video creation. He has achieved an Associate’s of Arts in Communications from Southwestern Michigan College, with a specialization in Creative Writing. He has also earned an Associate’s of Science in Multi-Media Production from Kalamazoo Valley College, with a specialization in Videography. Sam has worked in product and portrait photography, video editing, and created short films. He received his first camera in 2004 at the age of 7, and has never looked back.

Sam is passionate in all forms of art and science, striving every day to be a modern Renaissance man. From painting to writing, cooking to photography, poetry to video, animation to gardening, music to crafts, and everything in between; he prides himself on the deep study of many fields to borrow inspiration and techniques from. He shares a birthday with Leonardo Da Vinci, and aims to follow the polymath ideals of a lifelong universal education.

Behind the art: Sam enjoys the meditation of hiking and camping, the freedom of longboarding and bicycling, the challenge of videogames and weightlifting, and the laughter of good friends and family. He is a lover of the natural world and animals, especially cats, big and small.

“I like to make art that represents the human condition. I employ themes of wonder, love, gloom, surprise, melancholy, awe, and dread in my work; feelings that are intense, and shared by all. I want my art, regardless of its medium, to communicate a distinct emotion; to be easily understood by it’s viewer, but unique in it’s interpretation for each witness.”
